Our Mission & Goals

Mission:

Committed to being an advocate & raising awareness in the local community by encouraging, educating & supporting families affected by food allergies

Goals:

1. Educate local schools & restaurants about food allergies.
2. Coordinate and/or Participate in a FARE walk to raise money for research & funding food allergy awareness.
3. Have quarterly meetings from physicians/professional advocates to discuss topics on Food Allergies

About Northeast Georgia Food Allergy Support Group

Northeast Georgia Food Allergy Support Group was founded in September 2011 by Jennifer Addington and Sandy Shinpaugh. They both have children whom have life threaten food allergies to certain foods. Northeast Georgia Food Allergy Support Group mission is being an advocate and raising awareness for the general public, schools, restaurant management, and daycares about the possible life threatening effects of food allergies and how to enact an emergency action plan. 

​Northeast Georgia Food Allergy Support Group is a non-profit, volunteer support group for individuals and families living with food allergies in Gilmer, Fannin & Union Counties. You can reach co-founder, Jennifer Addington at Jennifer@northeastgafoodallergy.org.
